I have been very fortunate to be involved with the recovery college Cornwall (RCC) from the outset. There are many courses offered and all are really easy to understand whilst challenging you at the same time. They are incredibly informative and are all delivered to a high standard in a very caring and supportive manner. Each course is designed to encourage people to look at their own way of thinking as well as to listen to others on the challenges they are finding hard.
In the courses I have attended I have found that listening to others within the group has helped me realise im not alone, and that other people share the same battles I have. In my opinion this is priceless as it isnt something that can be written in any book but has to be heard. I have come away from each course feeling empowered and ready to tackle the way I think or act around that subject.
I believe that the RCC will enable people to learn new skills and knowledge about their mental health and reach their full potential. In my opinion, as a person with lived experience, this is invaluable. For someone who had no goal or ambition and couldn't see a way forward at all, by working with the RCC I now feel there are possibilities for me. Ideally I would like to become a peer mentor with the RCC so that I can give back something to the world and support others in the journeys as well.
